Egan Nominated as Irish American of the year by Suffolk County Legislature

As part of Suffolk County’s Irish American Heritage Celebration, County Legislator Dominick Thorne nominated Firm Partner Brian T. Egan, Esq., as the Irish American of the Year.  Brian has deep roots in Ireland, where his family emigrated from County Sligo in the nineteenth century. His Irish family has a long history of public service in New York, starting with his great-grandfather’s election to the NY Legislature in 1911.

. Brian’s commitment to his heritage have extended to his leadership of the Brehon Law Society of Suffolk County, where he is a past President, and their active involvement in the Irish Peace Process. Egan in 2007 was the Grand Marshal of the Patchogue St Patrick’s Day Parade. Legislator Thorne stated during the ceremony, “I’m proud that Brian is such a committed member of our community, and once again I’m honored to recognize his accomplishments and heritage.”

Since Mr. Egan’s admission to practice, he has concentrated his practice on civil litigation, including among his experience commercial litigation, business law, and municipal law. He is routinely involved in cases which are of major media interest, and has been involved in cases featured on CBS’ 60 Minutes and reported in the New York Times, Newsday, New York Post and the New York Law Journal.
