The Academy of Court Appointed Neutrals conducted its annual meeting in Fort Lauderdale Florida from March 6-9. Firm partner Harvey Besunder was featured in a presentation by the Judge and Special Masters (now “neutrals) concerning the Opioid litigation that was coordinated in Suffolk County NY Supreme Court before Hon. Jerry Gargiulo. The panel discussed the role of and importance of court appointed neutrals, as an adjunct to the court to expedite discovery, avoid delays and promote efficiency in complex cases. The panel included Judge Gargiulo, Judge Anthony Marano, Mr. Besunder and other appointed neutrals in the matter.
