Egan reappointed Chair of the Judicial Screening Committee

Egan & Golden, LLP is pleased to announce that Partner Brian T. Egan, Esq. has been appointed to a second term as Chairman of the Judicial Screening Committee of the Suffolk County Bar Association (SCBA). The Committee is tasked with investigating the background, experience, scholarship and other qualifications of candidates seeking to run for judicial office in Suffolk County to ensure that potential nominees are qualified to serve on the bench. The Committee consists of 25 members nominated by the Bar President and Board of Directors who are of recognized standing, judgment and independence. The terms of members is three years.

Egan has previously held many leadership roles in the Bar Association, including multiple terms as Chairman of both the Professional Ethics & Civility Committee and the Municipal Law Committee. This appointment is Egan’s second consecutive term as Chairman of the Judicial Screening Commitee. Egan also currently serves on the Grievance Committee. His practice includes a wide variety of commercial and civil litigation cases, and he serves as the Village Attorney for a variety of villages throughout Suffolk County.

Since Mr. Egan’s admission to practice, he has concentrated his practice on civil litigation, including among his experience commercial litigation, business law, and municipal law. He is routinely involved in cases which are of major media interest, and has been involved in cases featured on CBS’ 60 Minutes and reported in the New York Times, Newsday, New York Post and the New York Law Journal.
